This may might have been asked before, but would anyone else like to see the option of having weapons on your avatars back?

So it is like, you can put your sword and shield/staff on your back while in town, or not fighting while on a mission. Yeah it's probably a gimmick but I think it would rock to have, just for show off:P I really love the weapons in the game, and I think it's to bad you can't show off in towns what you got

They disappear into our Kinder bag of infinite HOLDING!!!

Only thing I worry about is, by adding 2 more things ontop of face/clothes hair and skin color to every character in town, we'd get lag to lower bandwidth users. Add to that, people can swap weapons which might further increase bandwidth needs (Imagine a "sit-down" like the THK strike last month, but with everyone tapping F1 and F2 time and again; "changing" their character with ease and sending those changes to everyone who 'sees" them). I reserve signing this until someone can proove that won't be a problem.

One of the very few things I like more about WoW over GW is the showing of weapons on your back, but there is a very easy soultion.

Have an option for turning on/off showing others weapons. Would not be too hard to do, its the same as a helmet but applies to others, not yourself.

It would be nice.

Something that could make this feature different from other games is, you maybe could decide where the weapon will be on you, have more than one set visible on you, and also have shealths. There could be different sheaths for different swords and such, which could be dyed...another money sink.

sword on back looks cool?

Logically, it's a VERY bad idea to have sword on your back. Because the time it takes for you to pull out your sword from your back is 4 times as sword tied to your waist...

That's why samurai warriors always have their sword by their side and not back...simply because if you pull your sword from your back, you'll be dead before your sword even come out.

its cute, but the vanity is there already. Also it'd save people going can I see your weapon as soon as you enter town.

Also are you gonna have all your 4 weapons slots showing etc?
Could be good to see, that people intend to weapon swap.

This is a bad idea for many reasons, I could see them allowing your shield to be tied to your back, but I would rather see new cape types made rather than swords tied to ppls backs. Cloaks, hooded cloaks, capes with risers over the shoulders, at the very least a cape which drappes over your shoulders, like Vampire Hunter D or that other vamp in BloodLust.

You keep trying to stick that flaming sword under your cape though, and wile your at it, tuck that shocking axe between your legs

And they can make wand holsters so the casters don't feel left out.

I Like this idea a lot. And someone might have pointed out an issue of clipping with cloaks, but I don't think that would be very hard to fix at all.
Cloaks are already unable to pass through your character, so they could either place them underneath the cloak and make it unable to move through it or the character, or they could place them over the top of the cloak and have the cloak stuck in place wherever it is covered (I like the first idea better though).
And, the weapons aren't even actually on fire. That same logic (if you were serious) could be used to say that your flaming sword should set your bag on fire when you place it inside.

As long as there was the option to turn it off (for obvious reasons already stated). No point in spending all that gold on a weapon when no one is going to see it.
